LATEST NEWS (22 NOVEMBER 2007) ANTONOV END CO-OPERATION DEAL WITH GEELY !!!!!!!!!!!! LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Antonov PLC said it will not go ahead with its co-operation with Geely as the automobile components company did not fulfil its financial and other obligations under the contract. The automatic transmission concept developer said the initial production licence lapsed in September 2007 and that the cessation of the deal had no impact on its first half results. Antonov said: "This decision has no impact on the company's published results for the first half of 2007 as prudently provision had already been made for the unpaid amounts from Geely." The Board emphasises that a production licence agreement has not been signed with Geely at this stage but an announcement is being made due to certain shareholder speculation that the Board has become aware of. Under the terms of the proposed production licence agreement, Antonov and Geely will work closely together in order to develop the TX6 to production to meet Geely’s aggressive production timetable for its own vehicles and to make the transmission available to other vehicle makers worldwide. Under the terms of the proposed production licence agreement, Antonov will receive both Licence Fees and production royalties. Geely have already taken two models of conventional automatic transmission to production and the Antonov TX6 will be an addition to this model line-up. The Chairman of Antonov, Christopher Ross, has also been instrumental in securing the deal relating to LTI, between Geely and Manganese Bronze, where he is deputy chairman. Mr. An, Conghui, Vice President of Geely Automotive said: “Geely are pleased to have signed Heads of Agreement on this Production Licence for the Antonov Technology which will further strengthen Geely’s transmission product range. We look forward to working with Antonov on their transmission technology.” John Moore, CEO of Antonov plc, said: “We are pleased to be working with Geely who have already developed their own transmissions and have the production infrastructure in place. This will enable a rapid programme to start of production.” Geely is one of the leading Chinese Automotive companies and is listed at the Hong Kong stock exchange. (www.geely.com) Antonov expects to make a further announcement to shareholders in due course.

Link: My Geely.
Link: Geely reports/magazines.

The first cash payments due under the Agreement signed in January have been received. Geely have stated their commitment to the six speed programme in their annual report but have not yet announced their vehicle plans.
Following the success of the programme with Geely, Antonov is pleased to announce that it is in discussion with another automotive company for a second programme based around the Company's six speed automatic technology.
In addition to these commercial developments, internal reorganisation work is nearing completion, with recruitment underway for a new technical centre in Warwick which will streamline the development and implementation of the Company's planned production programmes.
